The Alpha Cup
A single-shot portfolio competition. You enter one portfolio, it freezes, and you are ranked on the alpha it generates over the run — not on how much the market went up.
The rules
One portfolio, entered once
Registration opens before the starting gun and closes the moment the competition begins. There are no late entries — if you miss the window, you wait for the next one.
Your basket locks when you register
The holdings and weights you hold at the moment you enter are frozen into your entry. Rebalancing your live portfolio afterwards never changes what you are scored on, and your entry is not re-derived at the start.
Scored on alpha, not on return
Entries are ranked by Jensen's alpha: the return your basket produced beyond what its market exposure alone would explain. A portfolio that rode a rising market with high beta scores no alpha for it.
The standings are public, your holdings are not
The leaderboard shows usernames and scores. Your locked holdings are never published, and your personal result card is only reachable through a private link you choose to share.
Prizes
The top three entries in Alpha Cup take the podium. What they win is to be announced — it will be published here, and on the competition page, before registration closes.
How to enter

- 2. Create an account and pick a username; the leaderboard needs one.
- 3. When registration opens, lock in your portfolio from the competition page. That is the basket you compete with.
